In 2023, Isla began exploring lines with colored pencils and most recently her elegant, poetic, and energetic work has emerged onto the canvas in gestural, abstract forms of color and calligraphic, graffiti-like lines. Isla Kai lives in upstate NY with her family and her puppy, Pockets. She loves expressing her vibrant, full life through color and lines that read like poetry on the page or canvas. From the moment Isla was born, she has navigated life outside the lines, carving a new unique path rather than following one well worn. When looking at the world, Isla always discovers the finest, most significant details – in art, in film, in nature, in a person.
Isla’s latest artwork began on school worksheets, playing cards, and stuffed animals. When the work found its way to sketchbooks and the canvas, it exploded into an enigmatic, dreamlike movement that immerses you, inviting you in to experience Isla’s vibrant spirit. Isla dreams of being an artist when she grows up. We are proud to celebrate the artist she already is.
